EDUCATION & TRAINING:

Dennis graduated from American & European Massage Clinic, Inc. & School (AEMC), Raleigh, NC in June of 2004 and is certified in Russian Medical Massage- V method. Dennis chose Russian Medical Massage after interviewing Dr. Vladimir Bogatov (proprietor of AEMC).  Dr. Vladimir Bogatov graduated from the First Moscow Medical Academy – the best medical school in Russia at the time. Vladimir was a practicing physician in Moscow, and expanded his professional background by using one of the most developed methods of traditional medicine, Russian Medical Massage. He helped to develop a therapy program for the Soviet Olympic team during the 1980’s which incorporated massage protocols. Vladimir personally teaches the Russian technique, for which he has a proprietary license (RMM-V method) from the State of North Carolina. His school is nationally recognized. See www.raleighmassagecenter.com

Russian Massage uses many different modalities including Swedish, Neuro-muscular therapy, pressure-point treatment, deep tissue, reflexology and others! Russian Massage (V-Method) presents a combination of different hand manipulations in a particular sequence. Half of the massage is on the back (ideal for supplementing chiropractic work). The Russian method makes extensive use of elbow and forearm for the practitioner. The therapist can tailor the massage to meet the client’s needs.

2006 Continuing education course works in Sports Massage with Dr. James Mally for treatment of specific Sports injuries. Much of the course work was spent in Shoulder Pain assessment and treatment; as well as injury treatment for hamstring tear, Rotator Cuff Tear, Tennis Elbow, & shin Splints. See www.abundanthealth.com

2006 Continuing education course work (Trade Secrets: Neck Area) from Christopher Sovereign who is certified to teach the Benjamin System of Muscular Therapy & orthopedic massage. The course consisted of extensive study of neck anatomy and various hands-on approaches known to be effective in the treatment of tense neck muscles and other soft tissues that can cause tension or migraine headaches. (Note:  If the headache is due to injuries to the neck ligaments or misalignment of the neck vertebrae, chiropractic or other treatment modalities must be used for an effective outcome.) Proper assessment is essential to a favorable outcome. See these web sites for more information: SovereignSeminars.com & BenBenjamin.net:

2007 Continuing education course work (Headaches- Types, Triggers, & Treatments) from David Kent of Kent Health Systems.
